Dr Jane Weyand

Dip. R.A.C.O.G., F.R.A.C.G.P

Jane opened our Practice 25 years ago with her main interests at the time being obstetrics and womens’ Health. She thoroughly enjoyed this time delivering an average of 90 babies a year! Jane is still involoved in antenatal care, though no longer delivers babies, and is also particularly interested in the care of Chronic Diseases and osteoporosis. Jane is also very involved in the teaching and supervising of trainee GPs both within our Practice as well as  in other regional centres. Jane’s experience also sees her examining for the College of GP’s twice a year as well as conducting Accreditation visits of other Practices within the Central West.

Jane’s other passions include painting and attending art workshops, gardening and reading as well as her two King Charles Cavalier spaniels Marlie & Chelsie. Jane has a very busy life but relishes every minute.

Dr Michelle Telfer

General Practitioner

Michelle completed some of her medical training in Dubbo through the Sydney University school of rural health, and enjoyed it so much that she came back. She has now made her home here in Dubbo with her husband Josh, a local Optometrist and their young daughter. Michelle particularly enjoys the variety that General Practice offers but does also have a special interest in Women and Children’s’ health, especially antenatal care.

Michelle puts us to shame with her healthy lifestyle, and eating habits. Always one to abstain from those naughty morning teas, she is passionate about playing netball as well as Pilates and going to the gym.  Michelle endeavours to maintain her work life balance to ensure time with her family.

Dr Heather Ticehurst

General Practioner

Having been at MVFP since 2008, Heather is now one of the "old hands" in the practice. She enjoys the variety that comes from working in general practice and prides herself on her holistic approach. Her special area of interest is in Womens' Health and Antenatal Care.

Heather has a strong affinity for teaching, regularly hosting medical student placements and teaching tutorials, as well as assisting in registrar training.

In her spare time, she enjoys challenging herself physically: in the pool, on the bike, or jogging. She is preparing to defend her title as "Queen of the Mountain" in the local Mt Arthur Challenge. You can also find her playing guitar in church on Sunday mornings, and chasing fruit fly from her vegetable garden.
